Episode 052 - Fan Celebration 2.0 Part One
Thursday Jun 30, 2016
Thursday Jun 30, 2016
At long last, Fan Celebration 2.0 has finally arrived! We answer all of your questions, fifty-six of them in all! We welcome our host and moderator, Emily of the Classy Little Podcast, back to the show to guide us through all of these amazing fan questions. We had nearly three hours of raw audio for this week's show, between the Independence Day: Resurgence review and the celebration, so we had to cut this thing into THREE episodes! The minisode dropped this past Monday, and we'll be dropping Part 1 in our normal timeslot Thursday morning, followed by Part 2 a mere twenty-four hours later.
A huge, huge thank you to everyone who submitted questions for this episode:

Minisode 003 - Independence Diaper Fire: Resurgence
Monday Jun 27, 2016
Monday Jun 27, 2016
In this special minisode, Nick and Justin take turns flogging away at Independence Day: Resurgence, a dismal disappointment of a film that not only fails to live up to the glory of its predecessor, but locks it deep inside a bunker somewhere and then blows the bunker up. We had a lot to say about this one, so we didn't want to try to squeeze it in with the massive fan celebration, still landing this Thursday! Thanks for listening, and we'll see you at the movies!

Episode 051 - The Neon Demon & The Drunken Hobster
Thursday Jun 23, 2016
Thursday Jun 23, 2016
Justin begins this week by talking about a great opportunity he had this week to check out Nicholas Winding Refn's newest film, The Neon Demon, at the Washington D.c. premiere of the film. A big thanks and shout-out to our friend Kevin Sampson over at Picture Lock for this great opportunity! He will also briefly touch on Finding Dory as we look ahead to this weekend and Independence Day: Resurgence. We will also have a special moment today to remember Ron Lester, whose voice rings in the "What are you drinkin'?" segment each week, and Anton Yelchin, both of whom passed away this past week.
After a few weeks of an absence of trailers, Epic Previews is BACK this week with four huge trailers! We've got the second trailer for the remake of Ben Hur, the Alexander Skarsgård & Michael Peña buddy cop action comedy War on Everyone, the feature trailer for Pete's Dragon (with our first actual look at the dragon!) and finally, we've got the trailer for the latest horror flick from Rob Zombie, 31.
This week's episode lands on June 23rd, and we'll be recording Fan Celebration 2.0 TOMORROW, if you're reading this on release day! That means you've only got ONE MORE DAY to get us those questions ahead of the recording! Send us your questions, by any means possible- call/text the hotline at 607.444.1473, email us at epicfilmguysny@gmail.com, or find @EpicFilmGuys on twitter, instagram, and facebook. We want your questions! I've also got a couple surprises planned that should make for a wonderful show.

Episode 050 - Of Valiant Orcs & Demonic Nuns
Thursday Jun 16, 2016
Thursday Jun 16, 2016
Tonight's podcast begins on something of a somber note, as we reflect on the tragedy at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando only days ago. As we move into the show proper we ask that our audience reflect on this tragedy and to just let go of hate. There is so much hate, so much negativity in this world, and people are all too willing to arbitrarily take life over it. Enough is enough. I fear for the sanity of our collective species that any person can take or construct a weapon and murder a group of people simply because they're different. We don't want to politicize anything here and we're certainly not going to touch on guns, terrorists, or the sort. We just hope and pray that everyone can find some measure of peace and love and respect and stop this absolute senselessness. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of the family and friends of the Orlando tragedy.
With that said, we've certainly got a lot to cover in tonight's show... so much that we had to bring back special guest and friend of the show, Bryan Loy from Ten Bucks a Throw! Toward the top of the show, he and Justin will give a brief review of The Conjuring 2 in Justin's Cinema Beat, as they both had a chance to check out the horror sequel while I've yet to even see the first one. It also won the weekend box office with a $40 million haul domestically!
Tonight's main event, however, will feature this week's domestic box office runner-up, the video game-to-film adaptation Warcraft! The film crashed and burned domestically this weekend with a paltry $24 million on a sky-high $160 million budget. All is not lost for the Warcraft franchise, however, as the film has grossed nearly $300 million internationally, including a record-breaking $145 million and counting at the Chinese box office. Given this it has nearly doubled its budget already, so I expect a sequel announcement to come very soon.
Also this week, we've got some updates on Fan Celebration 2.0, where we are now accepting film questions as well! Send us ALL of your questions, by any means possible- call/text the hotline at 607.444.1473, email us at epicfilmguysny@gmail.com, or find @EpicFilmGuys on twitter, instagram, and facebook. We need your submissions by June 24th in order to make the show! I've also got a couple surprises planned that should make for a wonderful show.

Episode 049 - Heroes on a Podcast... EPIC POWER!
Thursday Jun 09, 2016
Thursday Jun 09, 2016
Cowabunga, baby! This week's review of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows is prefaced by scathing reviews of the 2014 reboot from myself and Justin. Despite our extremely generous scores, it is quite obvious that we loathed that film. We went into this sequel not really knowing what to expect, but safe to say we at least enjoyed this film more than the 2014 debacle. How much more? Give a listen and find out!
This week's show kicks off with Nick's rant about renting the comedy film Sisters, starring Amy Poehler and Tina Fey. Not that he didn't enjoy the film, but what on Earth is with the "rental" Blu-Ray? Hollywood has and will ever be in the business of making money, but this is taking things to absurd heights.
Last week on the show, we announced that we'd be recording our Fan Celebration 2.0 this month! I reached out to Emily from the Classy Little Podcast, who has graciously accepted and will be joining us to mediate the Q&A once again. Remember, you've got until June 27th to get us your questions (non-film-related only!!) for the celebration! We'd love to hear from you! You can email us at epicfilmguysny@gmail.com, find us on twitter/instagram/facebook, or call/text the Epic Film Guys hotline at 607.444.1473!
Also this week, we'll touch on the news of the Rogue One reshoots and we'll briefly discuss our anticipation for the ultimate edition of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. And, Ecto-Cooler is back! Justin managed to snag some for himself, and he'll tell you all about it as well as his once-in-a-lifetime meeting with Batman & Robin themselves. All that, plus our first-ever award for podcasting, an Archer live-action film, and John Boyega joins the cast of Pacific Rim II- but do the boys even care?

Episode 048 - X-Men: Banal Schlockpocalypse
Thursday Jun 02, 2016
Thursday Jun 02, 2016
X-Men: Apocalypse is proving to be the second comic book film of 2016 that is divisive between both critics and fans, and many on both sides of the line are standing by slinging mud back and forth already. Again, the chorus of "give the rights back to Marvel" has begun, and with this being the last film in the trilogy that started with First Class, what is the future of FOX's mutant franchise? We'll weigh in with our spoiler-filled review of Apocalypse as we look to what comes next.
One year of the Epic Film Guys podcast is quickly approaching! Our 52nd weekly episode will arrive on June 23rd, and we'll be dedicating our June 30th episode to YOU, the fans. That means it is time once again for a FAN CELEBRATION! All month long we'll be taking questions from you, and we'll answer them all for the one-year celebration! You have a few different ways of reaching us- you can either record your questions directly and upload them to a virtual drive and send them our way, or you can email us, message us on twitter/facebook/instagram, or however else you can get them to us.
