Episode 087 - The Epic Film Guys Evolution
Thursday Mar 02, 2017
Thursday Mar 02, 2017
Well, the Oscars are finally said and done, and we've got a run-down of some of our surprising picks that didn't make it, as well as some of those that did. We'll of course touch on the absolute meltdown that ended what was an otherwise fine show and discuss our thoughts of the show's tone, comedy, and politics. Justin also reviews the brand new horror film from Jordan Peele with a brief recap of Get Out, and we watch the final trailer for Kong: Skull Island in Epic Previews!
The show is officially changing! Some of the changes implemented here are fluid and will continue to evolve to hit the right point, but right away this week you'll notice some big ones; no more promos, and the brand-new intro is buried in the first segment. We're now featuring podcasts with a special segment and we've got trivia! A lot more fun ways to get involved are right around the corner, and as usual the show will need a bit of time to grow into the new changes, but I think they're for the better.
Along with the segment changes, our sound continues to evolve as well thanks to Justin now recording on his own ATR-2100 and the mixer we received from Emily. This allows me to run a soundboard and play segment roll-ins and trailers right in the live recording of the show, getting Justin's reactions to them and saving me a boatload of time in editing. More time will now go to some upcoming segment break pieces focusing on other podcasts as well as some other fun stuff. Please forgive me for any growing pains we may experience, I know the sound is a little off in the mix in a couple places in this episode. Stay tuned as the Epic Film Guys continue to grow and change into the future!
