Episode 081 - I Want My Money Back, Affleck!
Thursday Jan 19, 2017
Thursday Jan 19, 2017
It's host-swap week! This week, Justin joined Caleb over on the Netflix n' Swill podcast, which you'll be able to hear on the 24th of January, and Dan once again joins me on the show! Not only are we featuring a Patrick Swayze clip this week for our Featured Actor segment, but we both watched a Patrick Swayze film for a bit of a retro review on the podcast with Donnie Darko. Fans of the show will know that Justin and regular listener Dylan Miles have been egging me to watch the film for ages... will they be happy with my reaction to it?
Also this week, we've got tons of your feedback in our Thumbs Up/Down segment, and we read your iTunes reviews! Thank you very much to everyone who submitted reviews. Dan also has his top ten films of 2016 at the top of the show as a tie-in to last week's episode, and he spends a good bit of time lavishing praise upon his #1 film of the year. We also touch on some movie news with your feedback.
Lastly, the second segment of the show is dedicated to a spoiler-free review of the latest from writer/director/star Ben Affleck, Live by Night. If you've already checked out my written review (find the link below), you know that I utterly detested the film, and I'll spend a bit of time elaborating on that in a segment-long edition of Nick's Rants.
Next week we'll be joined once again by Mason of Reel Dude Reviews for our Most Anticipated of 2017 episode. We're also going to be putting the word out shortly looking for a new crossover/mashup opportunity in February. If you're interested in doing a crossover, please let us know! Thank you very much for listening... we'll see you at the movies!!

Hey guys great show! I watched Requim for a Dream, Memento, and Donnie Darko right after being let go from a great job. Being unemployed and slightly depressed the movies only meant something because of the situation. Of course when you lose your way movies about how decisions we make affect the lives we live mean more. So Donnie Darko hit harder and was liked more when I watched it.
