Episode 030 - Our EPIC Fan Celebration!
Thursday Jan 28, 2016
Thursday Jan 28, 2016
THANK YOU!!! This week, our entire podcast is dedicated to YOU, the fans, and we'll be answering your questions as part of our Epic Fan Celebration! Without you guys, there would be no Epic Film Guys, so we wanted to take the time to thank you all properly for being part of the show. We've got lots of fun surprises planned for this week's show.
In the Epic Previews segment this week, given our mounting excitement for the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, we're discussing the latest TV spots that debuted during the week, one for Batman and one for Superman. Listen as Supes tells Batman to "bury the Bat," and as Bruce Wayne makes his case to Alfred about why Superman must be destroyed. We also take aim at the marketing for Batman v Superman and ask what the hell is going on with it. What happened to that Superman Empire cover? What on Earth is up with that new poster?
We got so many questions we actually had to trim out a big section of the Q&A that will now appear in next week's episode, along with our review of Hail, Caesar and the beginning of our Oscar retrospective. We want to thank everyone for contributing to the show with their questions, and a very big thank you to Emily of the Classy Little Podcast for moderating the event for us. You can listen to their show over at https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/classy-little-podcast/id1019422584. Cheers!

Episode 029 - Hollywood's Biggest (and whitest) Night
Thursday Jan 21, 2016
Thursday Jan 21, 2016
Hollywood's biggest night is set for February 28th, live at 7 PM EST on ABC. In the wake of the nominations last Thursday, the biggest news is just how many people were NOT nominated, and how white all of the nominees are. Spike Lee and Jada Pinkett Smith have already boycotted this year's show, but what is the deeper issue here? The Epic Film Guys discuss #OscarsSoWhite and all of this year's nominees. The 88th Academy Awards are only five weeks away from today! See the full list of nominees at http://oscar.go.com/nominees.
This week in our Epic Previews segment, we'll be dissecting that beautiful 10 Cloverfield Lane trailer that came out of nowhere starring John Goodman and Mary Elizabeth Winstead. We're also reviewing the hotly anticipated Suicide Squad trailer, which dropped tonight as part of the CW's Dawn of the Justice League special! We'll have our full and immediate reaction to the CW special, including our first look at footage from Wonder Woman. We also got some glimpses at what the Flash and Cyborg will look like in the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and some new footage from the March blockbuster. We'll have our full rundown of the entire special here for you tonight!
A new month is fast-approaching with February, and we're announcing our Best Picture Challenge! During the month of February, your challenge is to watch ten Best Picture winners that you have not seen before and let us know what you thought! We'll be posting everyone's entire lists up on our site over at epicfilmguys.wordpress.com. We're also going to touch on our Just 90s January challenge and look ahead at the next two months!

Episode 027 - The Best of 2015!
Thursday Jan 07, 2016
Thursday Jan 07, 2016
With the new year upon us, it feels appropriate for a new beginning. We are saying goodbye to the Reel Rundown podcast and officially re-branding as the Epic Film Guys Podcast! In terms of content, very little will change; we'll still be bringing you our rants and thoughts on everything film, new and old. We'll continue with our normal segments and challenges, as well as introducing a few new ones from time to time. The rebranding is, instead, making the podcast a much bigger priority for us here. We'll be adding new logos and new music in the weeks to come, and maybe a few other surprises along the way! Stay tuned!
In this episode, we're going to be counting down our best films of 2015! We spent an extra week going to the movies and seeing as many films as we could in order to compile a more complete list. Some of the films on our list are bound to be newer releases, so we promise this list will be spoiler-free! We also briefly touch on some of the worst films we've seen this past year and Justin will list off his biggest disappointments of the year.
A big announcement this week, as your very own Epic Film Guys will be guest-starring on an episode of The Countdown Movie and TV reviews podcast! This has been a long time in the works, and we are thrilled to join Wayne and Paul for their Revenant review and their top ten Leonardo DiCaprio films of all time. The first of many crossovers to come! And, in our Epic Previews segment, we discuss the incredible new Deadpool red band trailer! Along with that, we'll be further-discussing our Just 90s January challenge and updating you on our progress- if any!
